Find the right hat style for your face shape.

Long

Deeper fitting styles, such as the cloche, beret, caps and baker boy, are the best hats for a long face . These styles balance out narrow proportions and add width.

Heart

Heart faces are best suited for hats with a slim profile, as they complement delicate features. A short brim fedora is a great option. Short-brimmed boaters, berets and beanies are also great options.

Oval

Most hat styles are suitable for oval faces. Take advantage of this versatility and experiment. Bold styles like wide-brim hats are always fun.

Round

Caps, boaters and fedoras are the excellent options for round faces. Their structure creates more angles to elongate the face.

Square

Hats with wide brims balance out the proportions of a square face to give the illusion of a slightly longer face. Hats with round crowns, such as a cloche can also create a softer look to balance sharp features.

Hat flattering outfits

Find your hat size.

Using a soft measuring tape or string, place it about 1/2 inch above your eyebrows and ears.
Wrap the tape or string around the back of your head in a position that your hat would likely sit most comfortably.
Make sure the tape is not too tight or too loose.
Measure several times for accuracy.
If your measurement is between sizes, it is recommended that you choose the larger size.
